Biography

Although a top high jumper, Helge Jansson concentrated on the decathlon from an early age. He was second at the 1924 Swedish Nationals and soon broke the Swedish record. He would place second three more times at the nationals, finally becoming Swedish Champion in 1928 and 1930. Jansson competed twice at the Olympics, in the decathlon in 1924-28 and the high jump in 1924. His career was as a detective sergeant.
