Biography

Jaroslav Brabec was a shot putter who competed at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics, making the final at both Games. Brabec won the European Indoors in 1973, adding bronzes at that event in 1972 and 1974. During his career he set five Czechoslovak records, and was the first Czech to exceed 21 metres. He was Czechoslovakian champion in the shot put in 1971-73, 1975-76, 1979, and 1981-82, also winning the title indoors in 1971, 1973, 1975, and 1978-1979. Brabec later became a weight throwing coach with Dukla Praha.

Personal Best: SP – 21.04 (1973).
