Biography

Jeff Atkinson ran the 1,500 metres at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, placing 10th in the final. He ran the event at the World Indoor Championships in 1989 and 1991, winning a bronze medal in 1989. Atkinson won the 1988 US Olympic Trials, and was runner-up in 1989 at the US Nationals in the 1,500. He ran in college for Stanford. Atkinson later became a coach, coaching cross-country and track at high schools in Southern California.

Personal Bests: 1500 – 3:35.15 (1989); Mile – 3:52.80 (1988).
