Biography

Calvin Davis was best known as a 400 metre hurdler, winning a bronze medal in the event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Davis ran at the 2001 World Championships, but did not make the final of the 400 hurdles. He did win gold in the 4x400 at the 1995 World Indoor Championships.

Davis started out at Wallace State Community College, but then finished at the University of Arkansas, where he won the 1993 NCAA Meet in the open 400 metres. He also won the 1994 NCAA Indoors at 400 metres, and had won the JUCO Meet in the 400 in 1992 while at Wallace State. In the intermediate hurdles, Davis was second at the 2001 USA Championships, finishing third in 1996. He was third at the 1994 USA Championships in the open 400.

Personal Best: 400H – 47.91 (1996).
