Biography

At the 1937 Penn Relays, Tom Deckard ran on the Indiana University team that broke the world record for the 4 x mile relay. At the AAU meet, he finished third in the 1938 steeplechase, second in the 1937 5K, and fourth in the 1936 10K. Deckard joined the Navy and became a career Naval officer.

Personal Bests: Mile – 4:15.0 (1936); 2 miles – 9:05.0i (1937); 5000 – 15:01.2 (1936); 3000S – 9:31.4 (1936).
