Biography

Tommy Haynes was a triple jumper at Middle Tennessee State who won the AAU Championship in 1976, and the AAU indoors in 1975-77. He was NCAA indoor champion in 1974 and also won the AAU indoors in the long jump in 1977. He was third in the NCAA outdoor triple jump in 1974. Haynes also won a silver medal in the triple at the 1975 Pan American Games. He later became head track coach at West Point.

Personal Bests: LJ – 8.14 (26-8½) (1974); TJ – 17.20 (56-5½) (1975).
