Biography

At the Central Olympic Trials, Charles McGinnis of the Chicago AA won the high jump at 6-5 (1.95) and the pole vault at 13-6 (4.11). One week later at the Final Trials he matched these heights exactly in both events to place second in the high jump and fourth in the pole vault. He competed in both events at Amsterdam, placing seventh in the high jump and winning a bronze medal in the pole vault.

Personal Bests: HJ – 1.956 (1927); PV – 4.11 (1928).
