Biography

Jeff Williams ran the 200 metres at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, finishing fifth. He had won a bronze medal in the event at the 1995 World Championships, and also won bronze in the 100 metres at the 1991 Pan American Games and the 1993 World Cup in the 200 metres.

Williams attended Prairie View A&M University where he played football. His speed was noticed by the track coach, and he became a sprinter. On an elite level Williams competed through 1997 but then continued in masters’ track competitions.

Personal Bests: 100 – 10.02 (1996); 200 – 19.87 (1996).
