Stane Šporn was a Slovenian long-distance runner who competed for Yugoslavia. Šporn had initial success at the Yugoslav championships, winning the 5,000 metres in 1928, followed by the 10,000 metres in 1931, before becoming a four-time champion in the marathon (1930, 1932–34). He continued to focus on the marathon, winning bronze (1933, 1935) and silver (1934) at the Balkan Games. In 1936 he ran in the marathon at the Berlin Olympics, finishing 41st. Šporn was 40-years-old when he was killed at the end of 1944 during World War II.
