Biography

At the 1906 Intercalated Athens Olympics, swimmer Simon Orlik was a member of the 4x250 metres freestyle relay squad that did not finish. He also swam the 1-mile freestyle and placed tenth. He was additionally entered for the 100- and 400-metre freestyle but did not start. In 1914, Orlik won the so-called “propaganda swimming” in the Danube channel at Vienna (Wien). He also won German Championships over 1,500 meters in 1897. He later emigrated to Great Britain where he died in 1942.
