Biography

Zoltán Tóbiás initially competed in the colors of the Balaton Úszók Egyesület (BUE) and then the Józsefvárosi Sport Club (JSC). After the 1906 Olympics, he moved to Ferencváros Budapest. In 1907, he broke the Hungarian National record in the 440 yard event and won the 1000 metre Tisza championship. In the same year, he moved to the United States and settled down in New York, where he competed for the NY Athletic Club and regularly sent reports to the Hungarian sport newspapers.
