Biography

Fernand Vast was French amateur road champion in 1905, after finishing fifth in that race in 1903. He was also runner-up in 1905 in the French amateur motor-paced championship. After his 1906 Olympic triumphs he turned professional and competed briefly in 1906-07. He was fifth at Paris-Bruxelles in 1906, 11th in the 1907 French road championship, and 15th at the 1907 Paris-Tours.
