Biography

East German cross-country skier Kerstin Moring placed fifth with the 4x5 km relay at the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Individually, she finished seventh over 20 km, which was her best Olympic result. As a cross-country skier, she won six East German national titles, as well as three silver and three bronze medals.

After the Calgary Games, Moring turned to biathlon and won the bronze medal with the relay at the 1991 World Championships. She was the daughter of Werner Moring, and later married luge Olympian Jochen Pietzsch. She worked as a social education worker at Suhl.
