Biography

In addition to her Olympic bronze medal at Lillehammer in 1994, Andrea Tagwerker won three World Championship gold medals in the team event – 1996, 1997, and 1999. In singles she won two medals at the European Championships with silver in 1998 and a bronze in 1996. Tagwerker was overall World Cup champion for the 1996-97 season, before that competition began to be dominated by German sliders. She was also Austrian Champion in 1994 and 2002. In 1994 Tagwerker was awarded a Gold Medal for Meritorious Service to the Austrian Republic, and in 1998 she was awarded the Silver Medal.
