Biography

German sprinter Marion Wagner had her finest moments with the German 4x100 metres relay squad. She finished sixth and fourth at the 2000 Sydney and 2008 Beijing Olympics respectively. However, at Athens in 2004 they were eliminated in the heats. In 2001 Wagner won the World Championships gold (which was only adjudged in 2004 after the doping disqualification of the US relay team), and in 2009 the bronze medal. She also won a silver medal at the 2002 Europeans.

Wagner won her only German national titles over 60 metres, at the indoor championships in 2005 and 2006. By profession, she became a bank clerk.
