Sprinter Karin Mayr-Krifka was Austrian champion in 100 metres (1997-2000, 2002-03, 2005), 200 metres (1997, 2000, 2002-2005), 4×100 metres relay (1991-1995, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2004-05), 4×400 metres relay (1992-94), and 100 metres hurdles (1995). Mayr-Krifka qualified for the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics but was eliminated in the 100 and 200 metres heats at both Games.
Internationally, Mayr-Krifka won a silver medal at the 2002 Indoor European Championships, a bronze medal at the 2004 Indoor Worlds, and another bronze at the 2005 Indoor Europeans, all over 200 metres. She married sprinter Gerfried Krifka and raised three children.
