Biography

Aleksandar “Alex” Anđelić played ice hockey for Yugoslavia at the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. After playing with Partizan Beograd he moved to the Netherlands in 1967 where he played the remainder of his career, retiring in 1975. Anđelić then became a hockey coach, serving as national team coach of the Netherlands’ U-20 team. He also coached in Yugoslavia, Serbia & Montenegro, and Turkey, and was an assistant in North America with the Toronto Marlies, an AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Anđelić died from complications after contracting COVID-19.
