Biography

Florian Beck was one of the most successful German slalom skiers in the 1980s along with Frank Wörndl. Between 1984 and 1989 he was a four-time German Champion and participated in four World Championships, with one podium finish in the World Cup. Beck later managed the Alpine Training Center of Allgäu (ATA) in Oberjoch, and in 2006 he took over as the race director of the women’s World Cup Race in Ofterschwang.

He later married Maria Epple, sister of Irene Epple, and became an alpine skiing coach at the Alpine Trainingscenter Allgäu (ATA) at Oberjoch. He also coached the German Federal Customs Service Skiing Team.
