Biography

Cardno, from the North of Scotland, partnered Freddie McEvoy in both 2-man and 4-man events at the 1936 Winter Games. McAvoy and Cardno had impressed whilst racing in St. Moritz earlier in the winter and, although they failed to win a medal in the 2-man event, a consistent display in the 4-man event earned them a bronze medal in partnership with Dugdale and Green. He was not part of the McEvoy piloted British crews which won three gold and two silver medals at World Championships between 1937 and 1939.
