Biography

Swedish ice hockey player Yngve Casslind was one of the best goaltenders in the country during the 1950s. Despite being small Casslind was noted for both his speed and his glovework. He spent more than a decade playing the sport, first starting out with IK Göta in 1951, before finishing his career with Skellefteå AIK. He made his début for the national team in 1955, competed at the Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics the following year, and won gold at the 1957 World Ice Hockey Championships in Moskva.
