The oldest of the three Christian brothers, Gordy played collegiately at the University of North Dakota, where he was the first player at that school to score 100 points in a career, which he did in only three seasons. He also played on two other international teams for the U.S. at the 1955 and 1958 World’s Championship. After retiring as a player, Christian joined the family business, Christian Brothers Stick Co., which manufactured hockey sticks.
