Biography

Jerry Fotheringill skated pairs with his sister, Judi. They attended Clover Park High School in Tacoma, Washington, and later represented the Broadmoor Skating Club in Colorado, where they trained. After the air disaster of 1961, in which the entire US figure skating team was killed while flying to the World Championships in Prague, they moved up quickly at the senior level, placing 2nd in 1962 in their first year as seniors. They won the US title in 1963-64 and won a bronze at the 1963 North American Championships. They were less successful internationally, competing in three World Championships and the 1964 Winter Olympics, with a best finish of 7th at the 1963 Worlds and the 1964 Olympics.
