Biography

Norbert Hahn was Hans Rinn’s partner in the doubles at the end of the 1970s. Together they won two consecutive gold medals at the 1976 and 1980 Winter Olympics, the 1975 and 1977 World Championships, and the 1973, 1975, 1978 and 1980 European Championships. Additionally they won silver medals at the 1973 and 1979 World Championships, and at the 1974, 1977 and 1979 European Championships.

They also won East German titles every year from 1973-78, save for 1975. Norbert Hahn, who was not related to the brothers Bernd and Ulli Hahn although they were born in the same village, later made his living as a coach at Oberhof. In 2006 he took over the Russian national team and in 2009, became German national coach until his retirement in 2017.
