Biography

Along with his older brother Bernd, East German Ulli Hahn was a world class doubles luger during the 1970s and 80s. The pair won the 1974 and 1981 World Championships, and also won three silvers and one bronze at the Europeans, in 1973, 1975, 1978 and 1980.

With less success, both also participated in the 1976 Innsbruck, and 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics, finishing 16th, and an unfortunate fourth respectively. In 1979 and 1980 they won the East German national titles. The two siblings were not related to their teammate Norbert Hahn. Ulli, however, married Olympic rower Christine Scheiblich.
