Biography

Ski jumper Paul Krauß came 18th on the normal hill at the 1936 Garmisch Partenkirchen Winter Olympics. In 1937 he finished sixth at the Nordic World Championships, and the following year was the best placed German jumper at Holmenkollen, finishing seventh. in 1939 he was placed eighth. In 1941 he set a new world record at Planica with 112 metres. He was killed in action in 1942 in World War II in Russia.
