Biography

East German bobsledder Axel Kühn started his career with a silver medal at the 1988 European Championships in the four-man event with non-Olympian pilot Volker Dietrich. In 1991 he won the World Championships with pilot Wolfgang Hoppe, claiming the Olympic silver medal in 1992 at Albertville with him, Bogdan Musiol and brakeman René Hannemann. Two years later Kühn was dropped as a member of the Olympic team anymore and he retired from sport.
