Biography

Peter Leitner earned six West German Ski jumping championships, all between 1976 and 1980. He also participated in the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics and placed 19th and 18th in the normal hill and the large hill events, respectively. During his active career he was well-known as a brilliant training jumper, but in competition he often struggled to produce his best efforts. His father owned a stained-glass factory, and Leitner also became a stained-glass artist.
