Biography

Hans Lichtenstern finished tenth in the 500 metres speed skating event at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Games. His career was overshadowed by his teammate Erhard Keller and Lichtenstern won four silvers over 500 metres at the national championship. However, he won his one and only West German title in 1982. He later became a physician for children in Pocking near München.

Personal Bests: 500 – 39.2 (1972); 1000 – 1:20.15 (1976); 1500 – 2:09.42 (1976); 5000 – 8:21.37 (1975); 10000 – 17:29.4 (1969).
