Biography

Mike Neill was an outfielder who helped the United States win baseball gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He also won a silver medal at the 1999 Pan American Games. He was mostly a career minor leaguer, although he played six games with the Oakland Athletics in the Major Leagues in July-August 1998.

Neill played in college at Villanova University where he led the Wildcats to the 1989 and 1991 Big East Conference titles and was the 1991 Big East Player of the Year. He played in the minors from 1991-2001, mostly in Double-A, but with a few years in Triple-A. He had a career batting average in the minors of .307, won two Minor League batting titles, and helped the Vancouver Canadians win the 1999 AAA World Series.
