Biography

Joe Bergin was from Fergus, Ontario, and played for the Fergus Thistles for 16 years, winning his first Ontario juvenile and junior championships in the late 1920s. In 1932 the team was a finalist in the Eastern Canadian Senior Championships in 1932. His performance earned him a place on the 1932 Canadian Olympic lacrosse team as a defenseman, even though he was only 19-years old. Bergin was inducted into the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1998.
