Biography

Pascale Paradis was a French professional tennis player who achieved a career-best singles ranking of #20 in the world in November 1988, and a doubles ranking of #38 in the world in October 1988. In 1983 Paradis was the girls’ singles champion at both Wimbledon and the French Open. Despite a promising start to her career she never went on to emulate her success as a professional.

Paradis won two singles and two doubles titles on the ITF Circuit. Moving up to the WTA Tour she lost in three singles finals but did go on to win two doubles titles. At Grand Slams she reached the singles quarter-finals at Wimbledon in 1988, and the quarter-finals in the doubles at the Australian Open (1985) and the French Open (1985, 1988). Paradis competed in the singles at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics when tennis was a demonstration sport. She reached the quarter-finals where she lost to the eventual tournament winner Steffi Graf.
