Biography

Lindsley Forbes played in the basketball tournament that was held during the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. He played for the St. Louis Central YMCA team that finished fourth in the tournament. Box scores for St. Louis Central YMCA in 1904 are not available so we do not have details on Forbes’ games.

Forbes settled for many years in Hamilton, Michigan where he ran Forbes and Todd Stationers with his brother-in-law, Percy Todd. Forbes and his wife moved to Chicago where he worked with the Furniture Market (forerunner of Merchandise Mart), but they moved back to Hamilton, where he died.
