Biography

Doug Robbins was a catcher who played college ball for Stanford. He played for the USA at the 1988 Seoul Olympics demonstration baseball tournament and at the 1988 Baseball World Cup. Robbins was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 10th round of the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft.

Robbins started his minor league career in 1989 with the A-ball Frederick Keys. He played Double-A in 1990-91 with the Hagerstown Suns, and made it to Triple-A in 1992 with the Rochester Red Wings. He later played for the Tacoma Tigers in Triple-A, but Robbins never made it to the Major Leagues because of shoulder injuries to his throwing arm.
