Biography

Jay Warwick competed in taekwondo as a demonstration sport at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He competed as a welterweight, finishing in a tie for third. Warwick won a bronze medal at the 1987 Pan American Games. He was US Champion as a middleweight in 1982-83 and as a welterweight in 1986-87.

Warwick graduated from Montana State University. He initially worked as a vice-president of operations for Godfather’s Pizza in Montana. In 1990 he moved to California and opened several taekwondo schools in Sacramento. Warwick became executive director of the US Taekwondo Union in 1998. In 2003 he became director of sports partnerships at the US Olympic Committee. He left the USOC in 2009 to start franchises of HuHot Restaurants. However, in 2018 he returned to Colorado Springs to become secretary-general of USA Taekwondo.
