Biography

Wayne Grimditch was a water skier who was considered one of the greatest jumpers in his era. Grimditch competed at the 1972 München Olympics when water skiing was a demonstration sport, placing second in slalom and tricks. He won 16 nationals titles, and set 10 US jumping records, as well as four world records. He was World Champion in the jumps in 1969, and also won World Championships in tricks in 1973 and 1975.

Grimditch later consulted with water ski companies and boat manufacturers. In 1978 he won the American Superstars competition on ABC Television. Grimditch later formed his own fitness company in Florida. He is a member of the American Water Ski Hall of Fame, inducted in 1986, and the International Water Ski Federation Hall of Fame, inducted in 2005.
