Biography

Ricky McCormick was an American water skier who competed in the Olympic water ski demonstration at the 1972 München Olympics. McCormick won the tricks and jumping. He was best known as a trick skier, pioneering multiple tricks, but actually won more titles as a jumper. McCormick was World Champion in tricks in 1971 and jumping in 1973 and 1975.

McCormick competed in 23 consecutive US Championships, from 1960-82, winning 37 national titles, including eight overall titles, with three consecutive from 1977-79. He also won eight titles at the Pan American Championships between 1966-80. McCormick was inducted into the Water Skiing Hall of Fame in 1988.
