Biography

German road cyclist Ina-Yoko Teutenberg could not finish the road race at the 2000 Sydney Summer Games and then finished an unfortunate fourth at the 2012 London Games. She came from a cycling family; Teutenberg’s father Horst was a cycling coach, and her brothers Lars and Sven as well as Lars’ children, Lea Tin and Tim Tom, were also professional cyclists.

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg won the 1990 Youth World Championships in the road race, and also the points race on the track. In 1996 she won the International Thuringia Stage Race. She also participated in the Tour de l’Aude, the Grande Boucle Féminine, the Giro d’Italia Femminile, The Liberty Classic, the Tour of Chongming Island, and the Holland Ladies Tour several times.

Nationally, Teutenberg won the road race title in 2009 and 2011. Also in 2011, she finished third at the World Championships in the road race. By profession, she became sports director with professional women’s teams in the USA.
