Biography

Thorsten Rund was a German cyclist who placed 23rd in the points race at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. In 1993 he was Youth World Champion in both the points race and individual pursuit. In 1996, he won the bronze medal with the German pursuit team at the World Championships.

Domestically, Rund won his only national title in the Madison with Guido Fulst. In 2001, he moved to Team Coast riding road events including the 2003 Vuelta a España. In 2008, he retired from competitive cycling. From 2015 Rund and his wife ran a café at Bad Freienwalde.
