Biography

Bengt Lundholm took up hockey in 1971 with Falu IF. He played with Leksands IF from 1972-77 and won the 1975 Swedish title with them and then played with AIK from 1977-81. Lundholm was drafted in 1975 by the Winnipeg Jets of the NHL, but he started playing with them only in 1981 and played five seasons with them, appearing in 275 games until 1986. Lundholm finished his career in 1986-87 with AIK. Internationally, Lundholm, a left winger, was capped 90 times with the Swedish national team. He won an Olympic bronze in 1980, World Championship silver in 1977 and bronzes in 1976 and 1979 and European Championship silver in 1977 and bronzes in 1976, 1978 and 1979. He was awarded the Stora Grabbars Märke (Big Boys’ Badge) #107 in ice hockey.
