Biography

André Collin was a student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. As early as in 1906 he was appointed chief architect for historical monuments. In 1929 he was promoted to Deputy Inspector General and in 1938 to Inspector General, holding these positions until his retirement in 1944. His major restoration projects were the Cathedral of Noyon and the abbeys of Prémontré and Laon. In 1920 he was honored as a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
