Biography

Italian Fernando Biscaccianti was a painter, watercolorist, engraver, designer, architect, and restorer. With his architectural monumentalism he was close to Fascism. As an architect he is best-known for the construction of the Military Shrine of Rovereto, also known by the name of Castel Dante, which is one of the most significant places memorializing World War I in Italy. The work took Biscaccianti five years to complete. His design of a stadium with a swimming pool dates back to the late 1920s. Whether this is the project submitted in Amsterdam is unknown.
