Biography

Stanislav Binar was a Czechoslovakian painter, medalist and sculptor. He was also an outstanding javelin thrower and avid rugby player. Later he belonged with Rináglem and Andrle to the founders of rugby in Brno. Binar studied at the University of Applied Arts in Brno. His most famous works revolve around sports. He entered his medallion for the fifth European Basketball Championship, which was held in Praha (Prague) in April and May 1947. Only the pin with the logo of the championship could be proven. It is not certain whether this motif was designed by Stanislav Binar.
