Biography

Magnus “Mag Daddy” Liljedahl won a gold medal in the Star class at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, sailing alongside Mark Reynolds. They were also World Champions in the Star in 2000 and were voted the Rolex Yachtsmen of the Year and ISAF Sailors of the Year. Liljedahl was a three-time North American Champion in the star and a three-time European Champion. He won the Bacardi Cup in Star class six times.

In 2005 Liljedahl co-founded Team Paradise Sailing and served as its executive director. Team Paradise is devoted to Paralympic sailing and their website noted that it is a “unique nonprofit sailing organization that provides sailing opportunities and education for everyone at all levels of ability, including our disabled and under-served communities and US veterans.”
