Ana Paula De Tassis was on the Italian volleyball squad at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the first Italian women’s team to compete at the Olympics. She was Brazilian-born and naturalized as an Italian in 1990. She played libero in Brazil from 1982-91 with the clubs Minas Tenis Club Transbrasil, Pirelli Sao Paulo, and Colgate. Then she then moved to Italy, where she played in the First League with Ancona (1992-93), Roma (1995-99), Matera (2000), Napoli (2001), Reggio Emilia (2002) and, before ending her career, Ravenna (2003-04).
