Biography

Thomas Pleisch was a right winger who played for Switzerland at the 1936 Winter Olympics and the 1934 and 1935 World Championships. In that era the Worlds doubled as the European Championships, and Pleisch won a World silver and European gold in 1935, and a European silver in 1934.

Pleisch started his career in 1931 with St. Moritz EHC, moving to Zürich City in 1934, but returned to St. Moritz later that season. His last season was 1935/36 when he skated with Basel EHC and Basel City. Pleisch committed suicide only a few weeks after the 1936 Winter Olympics.
