Biography

Defenseman Leif Rohlin began playing hockey in 1986 with VIK Västerås HK and played there until 1995. Rohlin was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks of the NHL in 1988 and joined the team in 1995. Rohlin played two seasons and 96 games with the Canucks before returning to Europe. From 1997-01, he played with HC Ambrì-Piotta in Switzerland and won the IIHF Continental Cup with them in 1998 and 1999. He was also selected as best defender at the 1999 IIHF Continental Cup. From 2001-02, Rohlin played with Djurgårdens IF, before finishing his career in 2002-03 with Södertälje SK.

Internationally Rohlin won an Olympic gold in 1994, World Championships silver in 1995 and bronze in 2001. After finishing his sporting career, Rohlin worked as general manager of VIK Västerås HK from 2007-10 and later worked as a salesman with Team Sportia, one of the leading Swedish sports retailers, in Västerås.
