Biography

A defenseman, Oskar Schmidt played ice hockey for Switzerland at the 1936 Olympic Winter Games. He also competed at the 1934 and 1935 World Championships. In that era the World and the European Championships were held concurrently, so Schmidt came away with a World silver and European gold in 1935 and a European silver medal in 1934. Schmidt spent his entire career, from 1926-39, with St. Moritz EHC.
