Biography

Gerdi Springer was an Austrian ice hockey forward who participated in the 1956 Cortina d’Ampezzo Winter Olympics, where the team placed tenth and last. In total, he won 29 international caps. At both the 1947 World and European Championships Springer won a bronze medal.

Springer was also a footballer and later became a coach and manager with an impressive list of Austrian clubs: Austria Klagenfurt, SK Sturm Graz, SK Rapd Wien, Alpine Donawitz, Wolfsberger AC, Grazer AK, Favoritner AC, Villacher SV, and 1. Wiener Neustädter SC.
