Biography

Harry Taylor, a Lancastrian from Blackpool, was originally chosen as a reserve for the Great Britain squad at the 1948 Olympics. He was called up into the team, however, and took part in the downhill, slalom and combined. Taylor learned his skiing during his time in Germany while serving as an N. C. O. with the B. A. O. R. (British Army of the Rhine), where he served as a lance bombardier.
