Biography

Tom Upham skied all events at Edward Little High School in Auburn, Maine, but when he went to the University of Colorado, he switched exclusively to Nordic events. He also competed for Colorado in baseball. Upham was second at the 1964 US and North American Championships in Nordic combined, and competed at Holmenkollen in 1965. He later became a school teacher and coached at high school, college, and US National team levels. He and his wife later started a business in 1974 but sold it in 1995 and retired. Upham was inducted into the Maine Ski Hall of Fame in 2008.
